11/20/2022 0 Comments Bleach vs one piece![]() ![]() Besides, while I consider Zanpakutos to be on par with DF (for the most part), Kido, Kaido and Shunpo are kind of like a mess. ![]() In OP almost every power up is justified. I mean, the guy fought Kenpachi, someone who is probably in the top 20 most powerful in Bleach, in the first half. Ichigo got a lot of does-not-make-much-sense power ups. Not to mention his design and concept is insanely creative, his DF us super cool, much cooler than any Bankai tbh. I could make entire essays on that, but just look at Doffy, his past and his backstory outshine every Bleach character's imo. Gyojins and their hatred towards humans and viceversa, slave trading, dictatorships with Wano Arc and the cost of militarized states, democracy, freedom, how times change and howthe truth always comes to light. Long story made short, OP deals with a lot more complex themes than Bleach. Stories like Otohime and Fisher Tiger, with Charlos would be unthinkable in Bleach imo. By a lot.īleach is ok as a fighting anime, it has cool characters, really good fights, not so good secondary characters, and very well fleshed out secondary characters. But from what I did read and the animes, OP wins. Besides, Oda's storytelling is leagues above Kubo's imo (haven't read full mangas of either btw). The very fact that it didn't decline in popularity after so many years is a proof that it is superior (at least in the engagement side). Even with subpar filler arcs and lengthy story arcs (how long were they in Hueco Mundo?), The Bleach anime adaptation's pacing is a lot better than One Piece's which has minimal true filler, and extend draws out chapters to fill entire episodes - and you might remember the same problem with Dragon Ball, since Toei also adapted it. That said, I think Bleach is far more digestible as an anime, which is how most fans, especially westerners, will experience them. ![]() What you feel matters more in such a subjective measure as art quality is completely up to you, and you're unlikely to change anybody's opinion on either manga. His style may be more cartoonish (as if it's that's a bad thing, it's a clear stylistic choice and it works), but his settings are incredibly detailed and his layouts are phenomenal from week to week. ![]() His art is top class.īut one thing I really appreciate with One Piece, as much as the narrative and worldbuilding, is just how beautiful Oda's panels are. His characters changed outfits all the time and it always exudes coolness. I think Kubo's art is insane, he has a great sense of motion (speed lines rarely feel so right), and his fashion sense is great. I really love One Piece, but I was and still am a Bleach fan (flaws and all) for a bit longer. ![]()
